The materials for each handmade violin are sourced from the same regions traditionally favored by the old Cremonese masters: maple tonewood from the Baltics and spruce tonewood from the Italian and European Alps.  Extensive care is taken to properly age and stabilize both the raw materials and the completed instrument.  The hand-made varnish is based on an old Italian oil recipe, practiced, refined, and perfected over more than two decades.  Special attention is given to the setup, with very personal care devoted to the instrument’s initial break-in period and the continued health and performance of every Giancarlo Arcieri instrument.
